Inflight and Airport Safety Measures
Emirates Airlines has made some important changes to the
precautions it takes at the airport and on board to ensure the health and
safety of its employees and customers.
Airlines have instructed all aircraft crew, boarding and
ground personnel who are in direct contact with passengers to wear PPE.
Personal protective equipment includes a disposable
protective gown over their uniform, a safety mask, as well as masks and gloves.
At Dubai International Airport, gloves and masks are
mandatory for all customers and employees, and thermal scanners monitor the
temperatures of all passengers and staff entering the airport.
The long-distance indicators are placed on the ground and in
the waiting areas to help travelers maintain the necessary distance during
check-in and boarding.
The airport team also installed protective barriers in each
check-in office to provide additional safety reassurance to passengers and
staff during the over-the-counter interaction.
On Emirates Airlines flights, seats are pre-assigned with
vacancies placed between individual passengers or family groups, subject to
remote protocols.

Emirates Airlines has also modified its flight services for
health and safety reasons. Food and beverages are still served as bento boxes
to reduce contact between the crew and customers while serving meals, and
reduce the risks of interaction. Personal boxes provide customers with
sandwiches, drinks, snacks and desserts.
Likewise, to reduce the risk of the virus spreading by
touch, magazines and other printed reading materials are temporarily
unavailable.
Cabin luggage is not currently accepted on flights. The only
portable items permitted in the cabin are limited to the laptop, handbag, file
bag, or baby necessities. All other items must be registered, and Emirates
Airlines will add cabin baggage weight to customer check-in baggage weight.
Customers must wear masks and gloves throughout their flight
from check-in to check-out.
All Emirates aircraft will undergo improved cleaning and
disinfection in Dubai after each flight.
