Prime Minister Imran Khan: Reiterates Commitment to Improve Living Conditions of Labors


Prime Minister Imran Khan has declared his government's commitment to improving the working conditions and lives of workers and to improve their well-being by providing them with better housing, education and medical coverage for themselves and their families.

"The government aims to develop automated and integrated systems for workers' welfare institutions to ensure transparency and reduce delay in providing workers with relief," the prime minister said in his message on the occasion of International Labour Day on May 1.

Prime Minister Imran said that May 1, International Labour Day, reminds us of the sacrifices of workers who have sacrificed their lives for their rights. Today it symbolizes the sanctity and dignity of work, while at the same time recognizing the importance of workers to the country's economic growth.

Labour rightsHe said that our religion affirms the principles of social justice and respect for the rights of people. Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace) worked himself on occasions including the Battle of the Trench to show respect for the work. Respect for hard work and recognition of workers' rights are very important in the progress process.

Prime Minister Imran said the spread of COVID-19 in the country has serious implications not only for the health of the population but also brought the direct impact of the shutdown of the industrial facility and factories and made workers more vulnerable than before.

He also said that daily wage workers were the ones most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, so the government announced a fiscal stimulus package and set aside a sum of Rs. 200 billion for workers and daily bets.

He added: "Taking into account the requirements of the labor market, the current government has embarked on vocational training and skills development programs to enable workers to obtain their due share in labor markets inside and outside the country."

Prime Minister Imran said that the role of the worker is central to the economic development of any country and that our government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of economic progress translate into prosperity for all segments of the population, including workers. May God help us do our best for the prosperity of our workers and our nation.
